How to establish a protection period
A user without an Alibaba Cloud account accesses an Ambassador's referral link and registers an account. After logging on, the user must access the link again to create an association record. This action grants a 90 day registration protection period.
A new customer accesses an Ambassador's exclusive link. If this association leads to a first-purchase rebate order, a 90 day first-purchase protection period begins. During this period, other Ambassadors cannot associate with the customer.
The associated customer list displays a "Protected" tag for customers in a protection period. The protection period lasts for 90 days. You can log on to the Alibaba Cloud Ambassador console to confirm the association status: https://dashi.aliyun.com/personal-center/extend-user
If a user without an account accesses a referral link and then logs on using a third-party platform, such as Alipay or Taobao, the association link breaks and a protection period cannot be established. After registration is complete, the user must log on to the account and access the Ambassador's exclusive link again. An association cannot be established if the account was registered without using a valid referral link from an Ambassador.
