After you create a custom app, you can associate products with it. Once associated, the products appear in the app's network configuration list during network setup.
Prerequisites
- You have created a product in the current project or another project. For more information, see Create a product.
- You have created a custom app in the console. For more information, see Create a custom app.
Procedure
- Go to the Associated Products page of the custom app.
- On the My Products tab, turn on the association status switch for the product that you want to associate.
The My Products tab lists all products in the current project. To use the app for network configuration, device attachment, or device control, turn on the Association Status switch for the product.
Note If you use the app to attach an unassociated product, such as one of your own products or a cross-project product, the app displays the following message: "This app cannot add the device. Contact after-sales support." - Select the Cross-project Shared Products tab to associate products from other projects.
When you request to associate a product from another project, the product must meet the following requirements.
- The requested product must be from another project under your account (not the current project) or from a project under another account.
- You can request to share a maximum of 10 products. This includes products whose sharing status is Pending approval.
- You cannot submit duplicate requests. This means you cannot request a product that has already been approved or is pending approval.
Follow these steps to associate a product from another project.
- Click Add Shared Product.
- Enter the ProductKey of the product that you want to share, and then click Next.
- Click Request Sharing.
After you submit the request, the page appears as shown in the following figure.
Note After you submit the request, the product owner's account receives an internal message. The owner can process the request on the Product Sharing page (as shown in the following figure) in one of two ways:- Go to the Alibaba Cloud Message Center, click the link in the internal message, and navigate to the Product Sharing page to process the request.
- In the project where the requested product resides, choose . Then, on the Approval Tasks tab, process the request.
- After the owner approves the request, the Sharing Status of the product changes to Sharing.
Note- After you complete app development, you can perform operations, such as network configuration, device attachment, and device control, on products with a status of Sharing. However, you cannot view the product's configuration information or any of its runtime data.
- The owner can revoke the sharing relationship at any time. Once revoked, you can no longer perform operations on the product, and its sharing status changes to Revoked.
To revoke the relationship, the product owner goes to the project homepage, chooses , navigates to the Shared Products tab, and clicks Revoke Sharing (as shown in the following figure).
