Message trace
This topic answers frequently asked questions about message traces.
Why can't I find trace data?
If you cannot find trace data after you enter query conditions, check for the following possible causes:
The message trace feature currently supports only Java clients.
Verify that the query conditions, such as Topic, Message ID, and Message Key, are entered correctly.
The specified time range is incorrect. To improve query speed, enter the time range when the message was sent. If no data is found, expand the time range and query again.
If you still cannot find the data after checking the preceding items, submit a ticket for technical support. Attach the log file from
/home/{user}/logs/sofamq.log.
Why does the trace show that a message was not consumed when it was, and why are the client IP address and producer ID incorrect?
This issue occurs because the client has not been upgraded to a version that supports the message trace feature. As a result, the MSMQ trace query backend can retrieve only partial trace data, which causes incorrect results. Upgrade the client as soon as possible. For more information, see Query message traces.
Why is my Group ID not in the Group list?
This issue can occur if the message has too many downstream subscribers, which limits the space in the trail map. To view all data, hover over the scroll bar and scroll.
Why are my previous query tasks no longer visible?
MSMQ periodically deletes historical query tasks to improve the display. By default, only query tasks from the last 7 days are retained. If you cannot see a historical task, run the query again.
