This topic explains terms that you may encounter while using the product.

Website publishing terms

CNAME record: An alias record that lets you map multiple names to the same computer. This record is often used for computers that provide both WWW and MAIL services.
TTL (Time To Live): The duration for which a DNS record is cached on a DNS server.
DNS (Domain Name System): A system that translates domain names into IP addresses that networks can recognize.
CDN (Content Delivery Network): A network of servers distributed across different geographic locations. A CDN uses features such as load balancing, content delivery, and scheduling to allow users to access content from the nearest server. This process reduces network congestion and improves response speed and hit rates.
IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4): The fourth and most widely used version of the Internet communication protocol.
IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6): The sixth version of the Internet communication protocol and the successor to IPv4. IPv6 offers faster upload and download speeds, enhances security with features such as encryption of data in-transit, and can reduce website loading latency. As IPv6 adoption grows, it is becoming common for websites to support access over both IPv6 and IPv4.
HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol): A protocol that defines the rules for communication between web clients and servers.
HTTPS: A secure version of HTTP that adds a layer of security to data transmission. It uses encryption in transit and identity authentication to protect data. Browsers do not display "insecure site" warnings for websites that use HTTPS.

Search engine optimization terms

Baidu Snapshot: Baidu search results pages display two types of listings: paid rankings and organic rankings. For paid rankings, a higher bid results in a higher position. Organic rankings, also known as Baidu Snapshots, are achieved by understanding Baidu's search engine algorithms and using technical methods to ensure a website is scraped, indexed, and recognized by its crawlers.
Sitemap: A file that maps the structure of a website to guide web crawlers. It is usually stored in the root directory. A sitemap is generated based on a website's structure, frame, and content, and helps improve the indexing of important pages.
Friendly link: Also known as a link exchange, reciprocal link, or affiliate link. It is a form of cooperation between websites with complementary resources. For mutual promotion, each site places the other's logo or name on its own website, along with a hyperlink to the other site.

Other terms

Video space: The amount of free storage space available for videos on the site. This amount is not affected by product renewals.
Total traffic: The total amount of free traffic available for the site. This amount increases upon product renewal.
Online status for import: A status for imported articles or products. If you set the status to online during import, the item can be selected from the list control in the designer.
Offline status for import: A status for imported articles or products that makes them hidden. If you set the status to offline during import, the item cannot be selected from the list control in the designer.
