dedicated cluster MyBase offers subscription-based storage plans to help you reduce your storage costs.

Prerequisites

The dedicated cluster must use the MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL engine.

Introduction to storage plans

A storage plan is a subscription package for storage capacity that can be used to offset the costs of pay-as-you-go cloud disk instances in the same region. Purchasing a storage plan is more cost-effective and flexible than using only pay-as-you-go instances.

Scenarios

In ApsaraDB for MyBase, to purchase storage space for a cloud disk database instance, you can purchase a storage plan when you create the instance.

Specifications

Storage plans are available in 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB, 3 TB, 5 TB, 10 TB, 12 TB, 16 TB, 20 TB, 25 TB, 30 TB, 50 TB, and 100 TB sizes to cover a variety of database instance scenarios.

Billing method

Storage plans use a subscription billing method. For more information, see Storage plan billing.

Notes

Storage usage that exceeds your plan's capacity is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. For example, if you purchase a 1000 GB storage plan and have three database instances using 300 GB, 400 GB, and 500 GB, your total usage is 1200 GB. The plan covers 1000 GB, and the extra 200 GB is billed as pay-as-you-go. You can view the usage covered by your storage plan using one of the following methods:

  • Method 1:

    1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for MyBase console.

    2. In the left navigation pane, click Resource Plan Management.

    3. On the Resource Plan Management page, click View.

    4. On the Resource Instance Management page, click the Usage Details tab to view the usage details for the storage plan.

  • Method 2:

    1. Log on to the User Center.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Resource Instance Management > Resource Plan.

    3. On the Resource Instance Management page, click the Usage Details tab to view usage details for the storage plan.

Limits

  • Storage plans cover only the bills for storage resources in the same region.

  • Storage plans cover only pay-as-you-go bills.

  • Storage plans cover only the bills for enterprise SSD (ESSD) instances.

    Note

MyBase provides three performance levels (PLs) for cloud disks: ESSD, PL2 ESSD, and PL3 ESSD. A higher PL indicates better disk performance.

  • You cannot use APIs to create or manage storage plans.

  • You cannot downgrade storage plans.

Lifecycle

A storage plan becomes active at the beginning of the hour when it is purchased. The plan covers pay-as-you-go storage bills from its effective time until it expires. A plan expires at 00:00 on the day after its subscription period ends.

Note

For example, if you purchase a one-month plan at 09:28 on January 1, 2020, it becomes effective at 09:00 on the same day. The subscription period ends on January 31, 2020, and the plan expires at 00:00 on February 1, 2020.
