After you create a host, you must create instances in the MyBase dedicated cluster to use all the features of the MyBase dedicated cluster. The system creates these instances on the host based on the resource allocation policy.

Prerequisites

You have created a MyBase for Redis host. For more information, see Add a Redis host.

Host requirements

Instance architecture

Host requirements

standard

A minimum of two hosts in an allocatable state with sufficient resources.

cluster

A minimum of three hosts in an allocatable state with sufficient resources.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the ApsaraDB for MyBase console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select a region.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, click Cluster List. In the Actions column of the target dedicated cluster, click Details.

  4. In the navigation pane on the left, click Instances, and then click Create Instance.

  5. Configure the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Region

The region where the instance is located.

    Cluster Name

The dedicated cluster that will contain the instance.

    Primary Zone

The primary zone of the instance. The system automatically selects a secondary zone.

    VPC

The VPC of the selected dedicated cluster.

    VSwitch

Select the VSwitch of the host. If no VSwitches are available, you can create a VSwitch. For more information, see Create and manage VSwitches.

    Edition

    • ApsaraDB for Redis Community Edition: a database service compatible with the open source Redis protocol and provides hybrid storage of memory and disks.

    • ApsaraDB for Redis Enhanced Edition (Tair): an enterprise-grade Redis series using a multi-threaded model and supports more data structures. For more information, see DRAM-based instances and Overview of Tair extended data structures.

    Version

    The engine version of Redis.

    • ApsaraDB for Redis Community Edition supports Redis 6.0 and Redis 5.0.

    • ApsaraDB for Redis Enhanced Edition (Tair) supports only Redis 5.0.

    Architecture Type

The supported architectures are standard and cluster.

    Deployment Mode

This parameter is available when you set the Architecture Type to standard. Valid values:

    • Default Policy: The system prioritizes deploying the instance on idle hosts or hosts with low resource usage.

    • Specify Hosts: You can manually select the hosts on which to deploy the instance.

    Specification Type

    Only Shared is supported.

    Shard Specification

Select the shard specification for the instance.

    Number of Replicas

The number of replicas for the instance. The only supported value is 2, which specifies one master node and one replica node.

    Storage Type

The storage type of the instance. Only ESSD is supported.

    Set Password

Select how to set the password. Valid values:

    • Later: Set the password after the instance is created. For more information, see Modify or reset a password.

    • Now: In the Password field, enter a password.

    Instance Name

Enter a name to help you identify the instance.

  6. Click Buy Now and complete the payment.
