Learn how to create a high-availability cluster of on-premises agents.
Background
Database Gateway supports high-availability clusters of on-premises agents. You can deploy the agent on multiple on-premises machines. These agents automatically form a high-availability cluster, improving link reliability. If an agent becomes unavailable, the Database Gateway server automatically switches to an available agent to maintain high availability.

Prerequisites
Ensure that you have activated the Database Gateway service and started at least one agent. For more information, see Create a database gateway.
Procedure
- Log on to the Database Gateway console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click Gateway List.
- Find the target gateway and click Detail.
- On the gateway details page, click Add gateway node.
- Choose an installation method based on your operating system. For Windows, click Download installation package. For other operating systems, copy the command line to the target machine and run it. Note: Each deployment command can start only one agent. To start multiple agents, click Refresh to get a new deployment command. If you connect through services like self-hosted databases on ECS, Express Connect, Cloud Enterprise Network, or VPN Gateway, select the option to use a private IP address in a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). After the command finishes, wait for the node to be added, and then click Finish.
- Once the node is added, its information appears on the gateway details page.
