The Overview page provides a process guide for the OceanBase console and displays information such as resource overview, capacity diagnosis, and SQL diagnosis.

Concepts

ApsaraDB for OceanBase has two main types of database instances: cluster instances and tenant instances.

  • Cluster instance: In ApsaraDB for OceanBase, a cluster instance is an OceanBase database that includes its required resources. It is associated with cloud resources such as server nodes and a virtual private cloud (VPC).

  • Tenant instance: A tenant instance is a compute resource that is virtually isolated from a large cluster using OceanBase's unique tenant isolation technology. It functions as an independent database instance. Within a tenant instance, you can create databases and tables to serve your applications.

For more information about the differences between cluster and tenant instances, see Instance types.
