Create a unified access instance

A unified access instance is a logical instance with an independent virtual IP address (VIP) and is shared within a unified access cluster. If an instance spans multiple clusters, it must contain multiple VIPs and use a domain name as its unified entry point.

A unified access instance is a collection of protocol entries that are shared within a unified access cluster. These instances support the HTTP and HTTPS protocols. The unified access cluster generates a separate port for each protocol in each instance. A unified access instance is deployed on a federated gateway cluster. A single instance can span multiple user clusters and serve as a unified entry point.

Prerequisites

• A unified access cluster is created.

• The gateway cluster is in the Online or Maintenance state. The network type of the gateway cluster must match the network type of the access instance.

Procedure

1. Log on to the LHC console.

2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Network > Unified Access Instance. The Unified Access Instance page appears.

3. Click Create Instance and configure the following parameters.

   • Basic information:

     • Instance name: Required. The name must be 1 to 34 characters in length and must be unique. It can contain lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). The name must start with a letter and end with a letter or a digit.

     • Network type: The supported network types are private network and public network.

     • Unified access cluster: Select an available access cluster. After you select a network type, only the unified access clusters that match the selected network type are displayed.

   • Configuration information:

     • HTTP protocol: Required. Enter a frontend port number. The value must be an integer from 1 to 65535.

     • HTTPS protocol: Optional. Click Add HTTPS Configuration, and enter the frontend port number and certificate ID.

       Note

       The HTTPS protocol is in beta testing. Do not use HTTPS in a production environment. To test this feature, submit a ticket to obtain a certificate ID.

4. Click Submit.

   A dialog box appears, indicating that the instance was created successfully. Click View Instance List to view the new instance in the instance list.
