This topic describes the statuses of a gateway cluster. These statuses indicate the operational state of the cluster at different stages.
The following table describes the unified access cluster statuses.
Status | Status property | Description |
Unhealthy | Stable state | The unified access cluster is unhealthy. The status is set to Unhealthy if the number of underlying replicas is incorrect or if an error occurs during cluster creation. |
Healthy - Online | Stable state | Normal. The gateway cluster forwards external traffic and accepts updates to forwarding rules. |
Healthy - Maintenance | Stable state | Locked. The gateway cluster only forwards external traffic. It does not accept requests to update forwarding rules. |
Locking | Intermediate state | The gateway cluster is being locked. |
Deleting | Intermediate state | The unified access cluster is now being deleted. |

When you create a gateway cluster, you can set its initial status to Online or Maintenance. After the cluster is created, you can change its status using the Lock, Unlock, and Delete options in the Actions column.
