Overview
Configure an Alibaba Mail account in Outlook 2016 using POP3 or IMAP.
Details
Before you start, enable the POP3/SMTP and IMAP/SMTP services. To enable these services, see Persistent password error when configuring Alibaba Mail in Outlook and Foxmail.
To configure POP3 or IMAP for Alibaba Mail in Outlook 2016:
1. Start Outlook 2016 and click Next.
2. Select Yes and click Next.
3. Select Manual setup or additional server types (M) and click Next.
4. Select POP or IMAP (P) and click Next.
5. Enter your username, password, and server address, then click Other Settings. 
SSL encryption is recommended. Server configurations:
POP3 protocol settings
Incoming mail server: pop.qiye.aliyun.com or pop3.[$Domain].
Outgoing mail server: smtp.qiye.aliyun.com or smtp.[$Domain].
[$Domain] is your domain name. Custom domains require DNS record configuration. Use the official Alibaba Mail endpoints when possible. DNS setup: Alibaba Mail domain name resolution.
IMAP protocol settings
Incoming mail server: imap.qiye.aliyun.com or imap.[$Domain].
Outgoing mail server: smtp.qiye.aliyun.com or smtp.[$Domain].
6. Click the Outgoing Server tab. Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server. 
7. Click the Advanced tab. Select Leave a copy of messages on the server (L) and click OK.
Optional. Select this to keep emails on the web server.
For the POP3 protocol, the incoming server (POP3) port is 110 and the outgoing server (SMTP) port is 25.
When you use an SSL connection, the incoming server (POP3) port is 995 and the outgoing server (SMTP) port is 465.
For the IMAP protocol, the incoming server (IMAP) port is 143 and the outgoing server (SMTP) port is 25.
When you use an SSL connection, the incoming server (IMAP) port is 993 and the outgoing server (SMTP) port is 465.
8. Click Test Account Settings (T) to verify the configuration. 
9. If tests show Completed, the account is configured. Click Close to start using Outlook for email.
