You can use the Plan management module to create and execute emergency plans. You can execute them directly or associate them with risk events. This module also provides a centralized location for you to view, edit, and delete all your plans.

Emergency plans

Create an emergency plan

  1. Log on to the SOFAStack console.

  2. In the navigation pane, choose Operations Management > High Availability Management.

  3. In the navigation pane, click Emergency Plan > Plan Management.

  4. Click Create. On the Create Emergency Plan page, configure the following parameters for the plan's basic information.

    The parameters are described as follows:

    Enter a name for the plan.

    Plan risk level

    Select a risk level for the plan. You can choose from five levels, P0 to P4. P0 is the highest risk level, and P4 is the lowest.

    Plan description

    Enter a description for the plan.

    Plan type

    Required

    Select a plan type.

    • Timed scheduling: An emergency plan for known scenarios that runs on a schedule. Relevant personnel are notified through DingTalk to execute the plan.

      When you set Plan type to Timed scheduling, you must configure a timed notification policy and a business notification DingTalk group. The configuration is as follows:

      • Start time: Required. Click the text box to set the start time for timed notifications.

      • End time: Required. Click the text box to set the end time for timed notifications.

      • Notification policy: Required. Select Interval or Timed, and click the text box to enter a time.

      • Notification status: The default status is Off. You can manually turn the notification switch on or off.

      • Business notification DingTalk group: Optional. Select one or more DingTalk groups to receive notifications.

    • Manual emergency: For anomalous activities reported by inspections, diagnostics, or monitoring, the plan is displayed in the risk management module for manual execution.

    Object type

    Select the object type for the plan.

    • User application: All user applications or specified user applications.

    • Ant products: All Ant products or specified Ant products.

    • Infrastructure resources: OB, ALB, AKE.

    Object scope

    Required

    Enter the object scope for the plan.

    • Select all products/applications: This plan can be associated with all product/application inspection rules. During execution, the containers that report risks are restarted.

    • Select specified products/applications/resources: This plan can only be associated with specified product/application/resource inspection rules. During execution, the containers that report risks are restarted.

  5. In the Plan steps section, configure the serial steps.

    1. Add a serial step.

      You can add a new serial step or import serial steps from an existing plan.

      • To add a new serial step, click Add Serial Step. In the node list that appears on the right, select an atomic operation and configure its parameters as prompted.

      • To import serial steps, click Import Serial Steps. In the plan list that appears on the right, import plan steps from an existing plan.

      Note

      You can add multiple serial steps. The steps are executed sequentially in the order they appear in the plan.

    2. (Optional) Add a parallel step.

      You can add a new parallel step or import parallel steps from an existing plan.

      • To add a new parallel step, click Add Parallel Step. In the node list that appears on the right, select an atomic operation and configure its parameters as prompted.

      • To import parallel steps, click Import Parallel Steps. In the plan list that appears on the right, import plan steps from an existing plan.

      Note

      You can add multiple parallel steps. These steps run concurrently.

    3. (Optional) Adjust the node order.

      After you add the nodes, you can click the Up or Down button in the upper-right corner of a node to change its order in the sequence.

  6. Click Submit. You are returned to the emergency plan list.

    The plan's status changes to Available, which means it is ready to be executed.

Execute an emergency plan

  1. In the navigation pane, click Emergency Plan > Plan Management.

  2. On the Emergency Plans tab, find the plan you want to execute and click image..png > Execute in the Actions column. Alternatively, you can click the plan name to open the Emergency Plan Details page and then click Execute in the upper-right corner.

  3. On the Execute Emergency Plan page, enter a name for the plan execution and select the target data center.

  4. Click OK. The plan execution page appears.

  5. Click Execute. The system automatically executes each step to switch or recover the specified features or resources.

Note
  • If you decide not to execute the plan, click Cancel Execution.

  • If an error occurs during execution, check the logs for the failed step to determine the cause. After resolving the issue, click Retry. Alternatively, you can click Skip to ignore the step.

More operations

In addition to creating and executing emergency plans, you can also view plan details, and edit, clone, or delete plans.

View emergency plan details

After an emergency plan is created, you can click its name in the emergency plan list to open the details page. This page displays the plan's basic information, steps, and execution records.

  • Basic information: Displays the basic information of the emergency plan, including Plan Name, Status, Risk Level, Administrator User Group, Tags, Creator, Creation Time, Modification Time, Description, Business DingTalk Group, Plan Type, Object Type, and Object Scope.

  • Plan steps: Displays the execution steps of the emergency plan.

  • Execution records: Displays the execution records of the emergency plan, including Plan Execution Name, Plan Type, Object, Status, Creator, Start Time, and Operator.

Edit an emergency plan

You can edit a plan in one of the following ways:

  • Method 1:

    1. In the navigation pane, click Emergency Plan > Plan Management.

    2. On the Emergency Plans tab, find the plan you want to edit, click Edit in the Actions column, and modify the plan information on the Edit Emergency Plan page.

    3. Click Submit.

  • Method 2:

    1. In the navigation pane, click Emergency Plan > Plan Management.

    2. On the Emergency Plans tab, click the name of the target emergency plan to go to its details page. Click Edit in the upper-right corner and modify the plan information on the Edit Emergency Plan page.

    3. Click Submit.

Clone an emergency plan

The plan management module lets you clone existing emergency plans. This is useful for creating a new plan based on an existing one.

Perform the following steps:

  1. In the navigation pane, click Emergency Plan > Plan Management.

  2. On the Emergency plans tab, click image..png > Clone in the Actions column of the plan you want to clone.

    The cloned plan appears in the plan list with a status of Editing. You must submit the plan before it can be executed.

  3. Find the cloned plan, click Edit in the Actions column, and on the Edit Emergency Plan page, modify the plan information, such as the name, description, and risk level. You can also add, delete, or reorder the plan steps.

  4. Click Submit to activate the plan.

Delete an emergency plan

Important

A plan cannot be recovered after it is deleted. Proceed with caution.

  1. In the navigation pane, click Emergency Plan > Plan Management.

  2. On the Emergency plans tab, click image..png > Delete in the Actions column of the plan you want to delete, and then click OK in the dialog box that appears.
