MYbank is one of the first private banks in China established as part of a pilot program, officially opening on June 25, 2015. It is the first bank in China to build its core system architecture on a financial cloud. This cloud platform enables MYbank to handle high-concurrency financial transactions, massive data volumes, and elastic scale-out. By leveraging the Internet and big data, the bank provides financial services to small and micro-enterprises.
Business challenges
MYbank's mission is to provide inclusive finance. The bank aims to use innovative Internet technologies, data, and channels to build a "distributed cloud ecosystem" architecture. This system lays the foundation for sustainable architectural evolution and helps address challenges, such as the difficulty and high cost of financing for small and micro-enterprises and the lack of rural financial services. This in turn promotes the growth of the real economy.
Solution
MYbank's cloud architecture has four main layers:
The Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) layer provides low-cost physical infrastructure, such as servers, network devices, and storage. Virtualization and cloud computing make the underlying resources low-cost, secure, and scalable.
The Platform as a Service (PaaS) layer provides distributed technology frameworks, components, and runtime environments for financial scenarios. It also provides an operations and maintenance (O&M) platform to manage services and resources.
The Data as a Service (DaaS) layer focuses on big data processing and computing. It provides risk control and data analytics capabilities for business operations.
The Software as a Service (SaaS) layer provides user-facing financial services and products, delivering a direct and seamless user experience.
MYbank successfully built its distributed cloud computing architecture by leveraging three key elements:
Two core technologies from Ant Group: the XTS distributed transaction framework and the OceanBase database.
A comprehensive support platform for the distributed architecture.
A highly Internet-oriented research, development, and O&M system. Together, these three elements form MYbank's "distributed cloud ecosystem" architecture, which provides a solid foundation for sustainable future evolution.
