Database Migration to Cloud Implementation Support Service

1. Service overview

1.1. Service description

As cloud computing and cloud-native databases continue to develop and become more popular, a growing number of enterprises are adopting cloud databases. These enterprises are actively migrating their traditional commercial databases to the cloud. A common need has emerged for proven methods to migrate commercial databases to cloud-native databases and for best practices for using databases on the cloud. Building on our database migration consulting services, the Alibaba Cloud Database Delivery and Architecture team offers an Oracle Database Migration to Cloud Implementation Support Service. This service meets the technical consulting needs for database products when you migrate large-scale systems to Alibaba Cloud databases. We help you resolve issues with migration tools and database usage during the implementation process. The Alibaba Cloud Database Delivery and Architecture team has deep expertise in IT system architecture, database technology, and migration techniques. We have accumulated a wealth of best practices for migrating systems to the cloud, migrating Oracle databases, and designing and optimizing databases on the cloud. This allows us to provide robust technical support for your IT system's cloud transformation.

2. Service scope

These implementation support services represent a different phase of the database migration process than the Database Migration to Cloud Consulting Service. The Implementation Support Premium Edition must be used with the consulting service and cannot be purchased separately.

2.1. Scope of Implementation Support Premium Edition

The Implementation Support Premium Edition provides additional implementation support in addition to the High-compatibility or General-purpose editions of the Database Migration to Cloud Consulting Service. This helps you migrate the databases of your core business systems to the cloud more quickly. The service includes:

• Database transformation support

• Application transformation support

• Business testing support

• Data migration implementation support

• Business cutover support and post-launch support

2.2. Service boundaries

• You can request implementation support from Alibaba Cloud only after you approve the Database and Application Transformation Plan. This plan is a deliverable of the Database Cloud Migration Consulting Service.

• During the implementation support service, Alibaba Cloud does not perform specific code modifications or implementation actions. You or your developer must perform these tasks. Alibaba Cloud provides technical support.

• The Premium Implementation Support package covers a database size of up to 1 TB. For Oracle instances larger than 1 TB, you must purchase one additional Premium Implementation Support package for each 1 TB increment over the initial 1 TB. Any fraction of a terabyte is rounded up.

• Alibaba Cloud provides technical solutions and support based only on Alibaba Cloud databases and related tools. If you use third-party software or application systems, Alibaba Cloud provides only advice and recommendations. We do not provide implementation support or technical guarantees for them.

• Alibaba Cloud provides solutions based only on Alibaba Cloud database services. We do not support self-managed databases on the cloud.

• After the business cutover is complete, Alibaba Cloud provides post-launch support for 14 calendar days. After 14 days, you can submit a ticket through the official Alibaba Cloud support system for any issues.

• This service does not include Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for cloud databases.

3. Prerequisites

• This service cannot be purchased separately. You must first purchase the Database Migration to Cloud Consulting Service.

• You can request this service at least 10 business days in advance. This allows Alibaba Cloud to assess your business goals and schedule feasibility, and to confirm whether we can accept your service request.

• You must promptly provide Alibaba Cloud with all reasonable and necessary documents, data, charts, system permissions, and remote access channels required for service delivery. All these materials are subject to the confidentiality clauses of this agreement. You agree that all information you have disclosed or will disclose to Alibaba Cloud is true, accurate, and not misleading.

• This project provides consulting services for migrating Oracle databases to the cloud. Service delivery is not constrained by the location of the Alibaba Cloud office. The service is delivered primarily through remote communication, such as phone calls, DingTalk, and email.

• During project delivery, you are the primary implementer. Alibaba Cloud primarily provides solution design and support during implementation. You must perform the actual database transformation, data migration, application transformation, application deployment, application testing, and business cutover actions.

• During the project, both parties will use mutually agreed-upon communication methods. The project managers from both sides are responsible for exchanging all necessary written information for this project. Communication methods may include DingTalk, the Internet, and email.

• All project deliverables must be in Simplified Chinese, and the working language is Chinese. All deliverables must be submitted as electronic copies in Microsoft Office format (including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio).

• You and Alibaba Cloud must commit to the project according to the mutually agreed-upon work plan, resource plan, and written start and end dates. If delays in your business system's iteration schedule cause the project to be postponed, Alibaba Cloud is not responsible for the delay.

• Neither party is liable for any special, incidental, or indirect damages, or for any consequential economic damages, including loss of profit or savings, under this project, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

• If you migrate applications to the cloud, you are responsible for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of your business applications.

3.1. Division of responsibilities

3.1.1. Customer and Alibaba Cloud

• Both parties agree on and confirm the specific business goals and scope.

• Sign the contract and complete the payment.

3.1.2. Responsibilities of both parties in each phase

Based on the tasks in the project plan, both parties have different responsibilities in each phase to ensure the project proceeds smoothly. The implementation support service provided by Alibaba Cloud begins at the implementation phase. The responsibilities of both parties are described as follows.

3.1.3. Completion criteria

After you confirm that the database migration to Alibaba Cloud is complete, Alibaba Cloud will help you perform functional testing on the related systems. We will also help you troubleshoot, identify, and resolve any related issues or abnormalities.

• The completion criteria for the Implementation Support Premium Edition are:

1. The implementation support for migrating the database of one application to Alibaba Cloud is complete, and you confirm acceptance online.

2. The project is also considered complete if it is paused or stopped for your reasons, and Alibaba Cloud has already provided 30 person-days of service within the agreed-upon timeframe.

3.2. Service Catalog

Service content: Alibaba Cloud provides implementation support services for one application's database, starting from the implementation phase, to help you meet your business goals. The service includes the following:

• Provides an application transformation support group and on-site support as needed during the service period.

5. Service process

Application time limit: You must submit a purchase request for the service at least 10 days before the service is scheduled to begin.

Service process overview:

The project preparation, current state analysis, and solution design phases are completed during the Database Migration to Cloud Consulting Service. This service begins at the implementation support phase.

6.2. Acceptance standards

• During project delivery, Party B provides technical support to help Party A modernize applications and migrate data to Alibaba Cloud databases. Party B also records key information in the documentation. Therefore, Party A should accept the documentation based on a content review to confirm that the submitted materials meet its requirements.

• If your business process requires internal reviews before Alibaba Cloud submits deliverables, you must drive and complete these internal reviews and reports before the agreed-upon acceptance time.

• If a document requires changes after a review meeting, Alibaba Cloud will make the changes and submit it for your acceptance. Your designated representative will then provide confirmation. Acceptance is completed by clicking the acceptance confirmation button on the public cloud service system page.

• Acceptance standards for the Implementation Support Premium Edition:

• The solution design from the High-compatibility or General-purpose Edition meets the agreed-upon delivery standards and is accepted online. For more information, see the 6.1 Acceptance checklist.

• The project is considered to have met the acceptance requirements when either the database of one sample application system is successfully migrated to Alibaba Cloud, or Alibaba Cloud has completed 30 person-days of service within the agreed-upon timeframe.

6.3. Acceptance plan

The following acceptance plan is based on the deliverables for each phase, as listed in '6.1 Acceptance Checklist'. Party A agrees to accept the project deliverables from Party B according to this plan.

7. Completion flag

The customer acceptance is complete.
