This topic uses a Huawei CloudLink Box 600 as an example to describe how to connect a Huawei device to a DingTalk meeting using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).

Prerequisites

  • The license for a DingTalk meeting connector is purchased. An account, a password, and a domain name are provided by DingTalk for you to register your Polycom device with the DingTalk meeting connector.

  • The backend web URL, account, and password of your Polycom device are obtained.

Connection modes

You can connect your video meeting device to a DingTalk meeting connector in the following two modes:
  • Registered mode: You must set all the required parameters to connect your device to the DingTalk meeting connector. In this mode, you can hold meetings and use all the meeting features of DingTalk.
  • Unregistered mode: You need only to set some required parameters. In this mode, you can test the connectivity between your device and the DingTalk meeting connector. For example, you can test the connectivity of shared video and audio streams.

Procedure

  1. Open a browser. Enter the backend web URL of your device in the address bar and press Enter.
  2. Enter the account and password of your device to log on to the device.
  3. Click the System Configuration tab.

  4. In the navigation pane on the left, click Server Configuration, and then configure SIP on the Basic Service tab.

You can connect to a DingTalk meeting using SIP in two ways: registered call or unregistered direct call.

    • Registered call

Set the required parameters as described in the following table. The examples are for reference only.

      Configuration Item

      Description

      Registration Server

Click Enable. Enter the domain name provided by DingTalk after your purchase in the Server Address and Meeting Service Number fields.

For example, if the domain name is sipgw.dingtalk.com, enter sipgw.dingtalk.com.

      URI

Enter in the format: account@domain name.

For example, if the account provided by DingTalk is dingt*** and the domain name is sipgw.dingtalk.com, enter dingt***@sipgw.dingtalk.com.

      Authentication Username

      Enter the user account.

For example, if the account provided by DingTalk is dingtalk, enter dingtalk in the Authentication Username field.

      Authentication Password

      Enter the user password.

For example, if the password provided by DingTalk is ding123, enter ding123 in the Authentication Password field.

      Important

You must re-enter the password every time you perform the configuration.

      Transmission Type

      Select TCP or UDP.

      BFCP Transmission Type

      Select TCP or UDP.

      Session Keepalive

Set Session Keepalive to Disable to prevent the device from automatically leaving the meeting after a few minutes.

After the configuration is complete, click Save. In the menu bar at the top, click Homepage. In the SIP section, if the SIP Address field displays the domain name and the Room Number field displays the URI address, the registration is successful.

    • Unregistered direct call

Set the required parameters as described in the following table. The examples are for reference only.

      Configuration Item

      Description

      Registration Server

      Click Enable.

      Note

If the device is already registered, clear the Server Address, Meeting Service Number, and URI fields. Then, re-enter the password in the Authentication Password field and click Save.

After the configuration is complete, click Save. In the menu bar at the top, click Homepage. In the SIP section, if the SIP Address field indicates that the terminal failed to register with the SIP server and the Room Number field displays the account, the unregistered direct call is configured successfully.

Verify the configuration

You can verify the configuration on the backend web management page.

  1. After you configure your SIP device, initiate a meeting within your organization.
  2. Obtain the security token of the meeting. For more information, see Join a meeting.
  3. Open a browser. Enter the backend web URL of your device in the address bar and press Enter.
  4. Enter the account and password of your device to log on to the device.
  5. Click Call, or click Meeting in the top menu bar.

  6. You can enter the meeting passcode.

    • Registered call

Enter the meeting code without spaces. If you can join the meeting after you click Call, the configuration is successful.

    • Unregistered direct call

Enter the meeting code without spaces, followed by @domain_name. If you can join the meeting after you click Call, the configuration is successful.
