You can add hosts to your ApsaraDB for MyBase dedicated cluster. After the hosts are added, you can create instances on them and use all the features of ApsaraDB for MyBase.

Background information

For information about host specifications and pricing, see MyBase Redis host specifications and pricing.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for MyBase console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the destination region.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, click Hosts, and then click Add Host.

  4. Set the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Region

The region where the host is located. By default, this is the region that you selected in Step 2.

    Zone

The zone where the host is located. Distribute hosts across different zones for high availability.

    Database Type

The database type for the host. Select Redis.

    Dedicated Cluster

Select the dedicated cluster to which the host belongs.

    • If you have not created a dedicated cluster of the specified database type in the current region, the system selects Create a default dedicated cluster and automatically creates a dedicated cluster for the host.

    • If you have created dedicated clusters of the specified database type in the current region, select a dedicated cluster as needed.

    Note

To create a new dedicated cluster, click Go to Console to Create. For more information about how to create a dedicated cluster, see Create a cluster.

    Virtual Private Cloud

The virtual private cloud (VPC) of the dedicated cluster to which the host belongs.

    • If you selected an existing dedicated cluster, select a VPC for that cluster.

    • If you selected Create a default dedicated cluster:

      • If one or more VPCs exist in the region, select a VPC.

      • If no VPCs exist in the region, the system selects Create a default VPC and automatically creates a VPC for the dedicated cluster.

    Note

To create a new VPC or vSwitch, click Go to Console to Create next to the Virtual Switch parameter. For more information about how to create a VPC or vSwitch, see Create a VPC with an IPv4 CIDR block.

    Virtual Switch

The vSwitch to which the host belongs.

    • If the selected VPC already has a vSwitch in the current zone, select a vSwitch.

    • If the selected VPC does not have a vSwitch in the current zone, log on to the vSwitch console to create one. Make sure the vSwitch is in the same region and zone as the VPC. For more information, see Create a VPC with an IPv4 CIDR block.

    • If you selected the default options to create both the dedicated cluster and the VPC, the system selects Create a default virtual switch and automatically creates a vSwitch.

    Note

To create a new VPC or vSwitch, click Go to Console to Create next to the Virtual Switch parameter. For more information about how to create a VPC or vSwitch, see Create a VPC with an IPv4 CIDR block.

    Security Group Authorization

When you add a host for the first time, click Go to Authorize. On the Resource Access Authorization page that appears, click Agree to Authorization to grant permissions to the security group.

Important After you grant permissions, the AliyunRDSDedicatedHostGroupRole role is displayed on the Roles page of the Resource Access Management (RAM) console. If you want to use ApsaraDB for MyBase dedicated clusters, retain this role. If this role is deleted, you must grant the permissions again to perform related operations.

    Host Image

The operating system image of the host. The default is the AliLinux image.

    Storage Class

The storage class of the host. Currently, only enterprise SSD (ESSD) is supported.

    Dedicated Host Types

    Select a dedicated host type:

    • General-purpose

    • Memory-optimized

    Note

For more information about dedicated host types, see Dedicated host types.

    Quantity

The number of hosts to add. For more information, see Host quantity requirements.

    Duration

The subscription duration for the host. You can select the Enable Auto-renewal checkbox to prevent service interruptions caused by an expired subscription. The system automatically renews the subscription for the same duration that you select. For example, if you select a 3-month duration, the auto-renewal cycle is also 3 months.

  5. Click Buy Now, select the Terms of Service checkbox, and then click Pay to complete the payment.
