You can modify the configuration of a MyBase Redis instance at any time to meet your business needs. This includes changing the instance specification and edition.
Prerequisites
You can only modify the configuration of master-replica instances.
Usage notes
When you modify the configuration of an instance, you may experience one or two transient connection interruptions, each lasting about 30 seconds. During this process, most database, account, and network operations are unavailable. We recommend modifying the instance configuration during off-peak hours or ensuring your application has an automatic reconnection mechanism.
Procedure
-
Log on to the ApsaraDB Dedicated Cluster console.
-
In the upper-left corner of the page, select the target region.
-
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
-
Find the target instance and click Modify Configuration in the Actions column.
-
On the page that appears, configure the following parameters.
Parameter
Description
Edition
You can upgrade an instance of Redis Community Edition to Redis Enterprise Edition (Performance-enhanced).
-
Redis Community Edition: A database service that is compatible with the standard open source Redis protocol and provides hybrid memory and disk storage.
-
Redis Enterprise Edition (Performance-enhanced): A performance-enhanced instance of Redis Enterprise Edition that uses a multi-threaded model. It delivers approximately three times the performance of a Redis Community Edition instance with the same specifications. It also provides various enhanced data structure modules to simplify development. For more information, see Performance-enhanced instances.
Shard specification
Defines the specification for each shard in the instance. A standard instance has only one shard. Each specification corresponds to a specific memory size, maximum number of connections, and bandwidth limit. For more information, see Cloud disk-based instance specifications.
NoteDatabase metadata is automatically generated after an instance is created. For a cluster instance, each shard contains 30 MB to 50 MB of metadata. The total metadata storage for the cluster is the sum of the metadata across all shards.
Number of replicas
The value is fixed to 2 replicas. The instance consists of a master and a replica node, forming a hot standby system to ensure high availability.
