This topic describes how to change the deployment solution for a cluster. You can upgrade or downgrade the solution.
Background information
Changing the deployment solution for a cluster instance also changes the number of full-featured replicas and the zones where they are deployed.
Changing the deployment solution may cause a transient disconnection that lasts for a few seconds. Perform this operation during off-peak hours.
After the deployment solution is changed, the monitoring data for any nodes that are taken offline is lost.
Prerequisites
Before you change the deployment solution, ensure that the following conditions are met.
The cluster is in the Running state.
All tenants in the cluster are in the Running state.
The cluster is a Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) or Standard Edition (Key-Value) cluster.
The database version of the cluster is V3.x or later.
Database Proxy Service V2.0 is not enabled for the cluster.
Procedure
Log on to the OceanBase Management Console.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Instance List.
In the instance list, find the target cluster instance and click its name to open the Cluster Instance Workbench.
In the upper-right corner, click the More icon, and then click Change Deployment Type.
Select Add Zone or Remove Zone, and then click OK.
NoteYou can change the number of full-featured replicas only for cluster instances that are deployed in a single data center.
On the purchase page, select the destination zone and deployment solution, and then select the Service Agreement checkbox.
Click Buy Now and complete the payment.
What to do next
After the deployment solution is changed, you can go to the Cluster Workbench to view the current deployment mode of the cluster.
