This document outlines the major changes introduced throughout the SDK's version history.

Starting with version 3.0, the SDK's underlying architecture has changed. SDK version 3.0 and later are not interoperable with earlier versions. You must migrate applications that use earlier SDK versions to version 3.0 or later.

Compared to earlier versions

The technology stack has been battle-tested by hundreds of millions of DingTalk users over several years.

Features proprietary, full-band echo cancellation.

Supports intelligent noise reduction.

Supports simulcast, which extends the multiple streams capability to provide up to three resolution layers. When network conditions or display sizes vary, these multiple video layers optimize network use and enhance the viewing experience.

The connection automatically recovers from network disruptions lasting up to 10 seconds, so users do not need to rejoin the channel.

Supports breakout rooms.

Supports whiteboard.

Supports beautification.

Supports virtual background.

Supports real-time messaging.

Supports real-time translation and captions.

Supports video annotation.

Due to a complete architectural redesign, some features from earlier versions are not yet available in version 3.0, including in-ear monitoring and voice beautification.
