Purchase a data migration task
This topic describes how to purchase a data migration task in OceanBase Data Transmission Service.
Background information
Data migration tasks support only the pay-as-you-go billing method. The service is free for a limited time, and the billing start date will be announced later. After you purchase a data migration task, you can configure and manage it.
Procedure
Log on to the OceanBase console .
In the navigation pane on the left, click Data Transmission > Data Migration.
On the Data Migration page, click Purchase Migration Task in the upper-right corner of the Migration Task List area.
On the Data Transmission - Pay-As-You-Go page, configure the parameters.
Parameter
Description
Product Type
Data migration tasks currently support only Pay-As-You-Go. The service is free for a limited time. The start date for billing will be announced later.
Feature
The default feature is Data Migration.
Source Region
The region where the source database is located.
Source Type
Select the type of the source database. Supported source types include OceanBase Database (MySQL and Oracle tenants), MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, TiDB, PolarDB-X 1.0, and PolarDB-X 2.0.
Destination Region
The source and destination regions must be the same.
Destination Type
The supported destination types are displayed based on your selected source type. Select a destination type as needed.
Instance Type
The options are Large, Micro, Small, Medium, and XLarge. The default value is Large.
Different instance types provide different performance levels for incremental synchronization, measured in records per second (RPS), and have different recommendations for the maximum number of table objects to migrate or synchronize. For more information, see Data Transmission Service specifications.
Quantity
The number of data migration tasks you want to run. The default value is 1. The maximum value is 500.
Click Buy Now.
On the Confirm Order page, confirm the parameter settings. Select I have read and agree to the Data Transmission Service (Pay-As-You-Go) Terms of Service, and then click Enable Now.
After the payment is complete, a message is displayed to indicate that the service is enabled. You can then return to the Data Migration page to continue configuring the task.
