Configure and manage multiple entities such as vehicles, outlets, and shopping guides to enable cross-entity group filtering, insight analysis, and marketing outreach.
Background
In addition to the user entity, you can configure and manage data for multiple entities, such as vehicles, outlets, and shopping guides. Multi-entity support lets you filter groups, analyze insights, and perform marketing outreach across different object types.
This module requires an additional fee. To enable it, contact the Customer Success Manager (CSM) for your account.
1. Configuration management for multiple entities
1.1 Configure entities
Procedure:
1. Click Configuration Management → Entity Management→ Entity Management.

2. Click Add Entity to define a new entity by entering its name and configuring its ID.
Entity Name: A descriptive label for the entity, such as Vehicle, Shopping Guide, or Outlet.
Entity ID: The identifier used to uniquely distinguish each instance of the entity, such as the vehicle identification number (VIN) for a vehicle, the employee ID or mobile number for a shopping guide, or the code for an outlet. This ID serves as the unique primary key. If an entity has multiple IDs, choose the primary key carefully because it cannot be changed after selection.

Before you add a new entity, you must first add its ID type in Configuration Management > ID Management > ID Type Management. For more information, see How to Manage User ID Types.

1.2 Entity relationship management
After you add an entity, go to Configuration Management → Entity Management→ Entity Relationship Management to define how entities relate to each other. For example, you can set up a binding relationship between a user and a vehicle, or an ownership relationship between a user and a shopping guide.
Procedure:
1. Click Configuration Management → Entity Management→ Add Entity Relationship.
2. Enter a name for the entity relationship and select the entities to associate. The associated ID type must be an identifier shared by both entities.

Before configuring an entity relationship, go to Configuration Management → ID Management → ID Mapping to add the ID type that will be used to establish the relationship with the user entity. For example, if the user and vehicle entities are associated by VIN, add the VIN ID type to the user's ID mapping list. This ID type only needs to be enabled and does not participate in the ID mapping process. For more information, see ID Mapping management.

1.3 Configure new tables for an entity
After you configure an entity, go to Data Import→ Table Structure Configuration to select the entity and add a new table. For more information, see Table Structure Configuration. For entities other than the user entity, you can currently add tag tables and behavior tables.
The types of tables that you can add vary by entity type:
-
User entity: User Tag, Statistical Tables, User Behavior, Order Details, Order Summary, Ad hoc Tag Table, and Product Tag
-
Other entities: Tag Table and Behavior Table

After you configure the new table, you must also configure the Scheduling Tasks for each entity.
2. User insights for multiple entities
2.1 Tag management for multiple entities
After you add a tag table, go to Consumer Insight→Tag Management to manage the tags for the corresponding entity.

2.2 Group filtering
Each entity has its own tags, behaviors, and groups available for filtering. You can also filter across multiple entities.
Procedure:
1. From the entity selection drop-down list, select the target entities for this filter.

2. In the filter module, filter based on data conditions from entities that have a configured relationship with the current entity. You can combine conditions from different entities. For example, filter for vehicles whose associated user is a VIP customer in their city and whose vehicle has undergone maintenance in the last month.

3. Select a relationship table to filter based on multi-entity relationship conditions.

2.3 Group management
Switch between entities to view group information for each. When configuring push settings for a group, select the entity ID from the entity configuration to push to downstream systems. For more information, see Audience Push Functions.

2.4 Group analysis
Cross-entity analysis is supported. Select the entity for the group you want to analyze, then select tags from other entities to perform cross-entity insight analysis. Group comparison is available only for groups within the same entity. For more information, see Group Analysis.

3. Use multi-entity relationships in automated marketing
Quick Audience lets you build automated marketing campaigns with multiple entities as target objects. Use multi-entity relationships to define engagement conditions and achieve precision marketing. The procedure is as follows:
3.1 Create a marketing campaign
In Automated Marketing, click New Marketing Campaign > Custom in the upper-right corner to open the Automated Marketing Canvas. For more information, see Create an Automated Marketing Campaign.

3.2 Add the Target Object component
In the Automated Marketing Canvas, add a Target Object component as the trigger. Configure your custom entity type and the target groups. You can select up to 50 groups. If a relationship exists between your selected entity type and the user entity, you can also select the inter-entity relationship to use for relationship-based decisions in the marketing flow:
-
All: Targets the entities in the selected groups and all of their associated users. You can later use the Relationship Judgment component or the relationship filter in various engagement components to refine your target audience.
-
Specific Relationship: Finds users from the selected groups who meet the specified relationship type at the beginning of the flow. Subsequent steps can only process these filtered results.
-
No Specific Relationship: Targets the entity and all its associated users. However, you cannot use the Relationship Judgment component or the relationship filter in various engagement components.

A many-to-many relationship between users and vehicles can cause data bloat, which slows down computation. To resolve this, you can reduce the size of the groups or upgrade your machine specifications. If you have confirmed that the marketing target is only a specific type of user associated with the vehicle, select Specific Relationship.
3.3 Precision marketing reach based on entity relationship judgment
Based on configured entity relationships, you can filter for the users you need to reach. Two methods are available:
-
Method 1: Add a Relationship Judgment component to apply specific marketing policies to target objects that satisfy one or more entity relationships.

-
Method 2: Use entity relationships to filter within various marketing engagement components. This lets you apply specific marketing policies to target objects that satisfy one or more entity relationships. For example, you can send Text Message A to users with the Vehicle Owner relationship and Text Message B to users with the Vehicle Insurance Purchaser relationship.

For more information about other standard operations in the automated marketing canvas, see Canvas operations.
3.4 View execution results and failure reasons
In the automated marketing list, select the campaign you created and view Execution Results for failure details.

If the failure reason is 'Failed to retrieve a sendable ID based on component configuration', check whether the entity relationship was established correctly.
