This topic describes how to add a read replica for a tenant.
Prerequisites
Before you can add a read replica for a tenant, you must first create a read replica for the cluster instance. For more information, see Manage read replicas for a cluster.
Procedure
You can initiate the Add Tenant Read Replica operation from the following three entry points:
Entry 1: Log on to the OceanBase Management Console. In the instance list, click the name of the target cluster instance to open the Cluster Instance Workspace. In the tenant list, click the name of the target tenant to open the Tenant Workspace. In the upper-right corner of the page, click the
icon and select Modify Tenant Resources.
Entry 2: Log on to the OceanBase Management Console. In the instance list, click the name of the target cluster instance to open the Cluster Instance Workspace. In the tenant list, click Modify Tenant Resources for the target tenant.
Entry 3: Log on to the OceanBase Management Console. In the instance list, click the name of the target cluster instance to open the Cluster Instance Workspace. In the tenant area of the topology graph, click Settings and select Modify Tenant Resources.
The following steps use Entry 3 as an example.
Log on to the OceanBase Management Console.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Instance List.
In the instance list, find the target cluster instance and click its name to open the Cluster Instance Workspace.
In the tenant area of the topology graph, click Settings and select Modify Tenant Resources.
NoteIn V4.x, the resource specifications (CPU, memory, log disk, and resource unit) of a tenant read replica are the same as those of a full-featured replica.
In V3.x, the resource specifications (CPU, memory, and resource unit) of a tenant read replica are the same as those of a full-featured replica.
Click Manage Tenant Read Replicas.
Click the
icon to enable the read replica.NoteYou can enable a read replica for a tenant only if the number of read replica nodes is greater than or equal to the number of tenant units, and the remaining resources on each read replica node are sufficient for the tenant. If resources are insufficient, you must first scale out the node specifications of the read replica. For more information, see Manage read replica upgrades or downgrades.
Ensure that the specifications of the tenant read replica are consistent with the specifications of the cluster read replica. If the specifications are inconsistent, the operation might fail.
For more information about how to modify the tenant's Allocated Resources, see Tenant specification limits.
In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
