The OceanBase database proxy service is available in two types: General-purpose and Dedicated. The General-purpose type is free of charge for a limited time. This topic describes the billing rules for the Dedicated database proxy service.
General-purpose Agent Fee Information
The OceanBase General-purpose database proxy service is currently free of charge for a limited time. The start date for billing will be announced later.
Billing for Dedicated proxies
The OceanBase Dedicated database proxy service is billed independently on an hourly basis. The billing formula is: Total instance price = vCPU unit price × Number of vCPUs × Number of proxy nodes × Duration. The number of vCPUs is determined by the proxy specification.
This formula applies to both subscription and pay-as-you-go cluster instances.
1 vCPU corresponds to 1 core and 2 GB of memory.
Usage for less than one hour is billed as one full hour.

Example of Dedicated proxy billing
Assume you purchase a cluster instance in the China (Hong Kong) region and use a dual-data-center deployment. The cluster has the Dedicated proxy service enabled with 2 proxy nodes, each with a specification of 8 cores and 16 GB. If the service is used for 24 hours, the total price is calculated as follows: 0.87 (vCPU unit price) × 8 (Number of vCPUs) × 2 (Number of proxy nodes) × 24 (Hours) = 334.08 (CNY). The hourly fee is 0.87 × 8 × 2 × 1 = 13.92 (CNY).
