Billing of read replicas
This topic describes the pricing and billing for OceanBase Database read replicas. The fees for a read replica instance depend on the billing method, region, node specifications, billing duration, and number of nodes.
Background information
OceanBase Database offers two billing methods: subscription and pay-as-you-go. You can purchase read replicas for clusters that use either of these billing methods.
For clusters that use either billing method, the billing logic is the same: Total read replica fee = Total price for read replica specifications + Total price for read replica storage. The price is determined by the final configuration, which includes the billing method, product series, region, deployment solution, node specifications, number of nodes, storage class, and storage size.
Subscription billing
For subscription cluster instances, the formula is Total read replica fee = Total price for read replica specifications + Total price for read replica storage. The price is determined by the final configuration, which includes the instance region, node specifications, number of nodes, and billing duration.

Assume that on January 1, you purchase a cluster instance in the China (Hong Kong) region. On January 16, you create a read replica for this cluster. The read replica has two 4-core 16 GB nodes.
The cluster expires on February 1. Because the read replica is tied to the cluster, it expires on the same day. This means the read replica is used for 15 days. Assuming a month has 30 days, the fees are calculated as follows:
The billing duration for the read replica is
15 days / 30 days = 0.5The total price for the read replica specifications is
2 * 1373 * 0.5 = 1373 (CNY)

The cluster expires on February 1. Because the read replica is tied to the cluster, it expires on the same day. This means the read replica is used for 15 days. Assuming a month has 30 days, the fees are calculated as follows:

Pay-as-you-go billing
