Switch storage types

Prerequisites

Before you switch the storage type of a cluster instance, ensure that the following conditions are met.

• The cluster is in the Running state.

• All tenants in the cluster are in the Running state.

• The cluster is not in a temporary capacity state.

• The cluster is a Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) or Standard Edition (Key-Value) instance.

Notes

When you switch the storage type from an Enhanced SSD (ESSD) PL1 cloud disk to an ESSD PL0 cloud disk, a primary node switchover may occur. This can increase latency. To ensure your business stability, perform this operation during off-peak hours.

Procedure

You can switch the storage type in one of the following three ways:

• Method 1: Log on to the OceanBase console. In the navigation pane on the left, click Instance List. In the row that contains the target cluster instance, click More, and then click Change Storage Type.

• Method 2: Log on to the OceanBase console. In the navigation pane on the left, click Instance List. In the instance list, find the target instance and click its name to go to the Cluster Instance Workspace. To the right of Topology, click Upgrade/Downgrade, and then click Change Storage Type.

• Method 3: Log on to the OceanBase console. In the navigation pane on the left, click Instance List. In the instance list, find the target instance and click its name to go to the Cluster Instance Workspace. To the right of Storage Type, click Change.

The following steps use Method 3 as an example:

1. Log on to the OceanBase Management Console .

2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Instance List.

3. In the instance list, find the target cluster instance and click its name to go to the Cluster Instance Workspace.

4. To the right of Storage Type, click Change.
