Billing for monitoring
This topic describes the pricing and billing for the second-level monitoring feature of OceanBase.
Billing rules
By default, OceanBase collects performance monitoring metrics every 60 seconds and displays the average value for each minute. If your business requires more precise monitoring, you can set the collection frequency to 5 seconds. This is a paid service.
In the current version, you cannot adjust the monitoring frequency for Serverless instances or tenant instances.
The second-level monitoring service is billed separately on an hourly basis. The formula is as follows: Second-level monitoring fee = Unit price × Number of nodes × Duration (hours).
The number of nodes used for billing is the number of full-featured replicas deployed for the instance. For more information about different deployment methods, see Deployment solutions.
The following tables list the regions where second-level monitoring for OceanBase is available and their corresponding prices.

Example 1:
Assume that you purchase a multi-data center instance with 3 nodes in the China (Hangzhou) region. You enable 5-second monitoring from 08:00 on March 8, 2024, to 08:00 on March 10, 2024. The system settles the fees for your resource usage on the hour.
The total fee for the two days is calculated as follows: 0.1 CNY/node/hour × 3 nodes × (24 hours × 2) = 14.4 (CNY).
Example 2:
Assume that you purchase a single-data center instance with a 2F1A (2 full-featured replicas and 1 arbitration service) deployment in the China (Hangzhou) region. This deployment corresponds to 2 nodes. You enable 5-second monitoring from 08:00 on March 8, 2024, to 08:00 on March 10, 2024. The system settles the fees for your resource usage on the hour.
The total fee for the two days is calculated as follows: 0.1 CNY/node/hour × 2 nodes × (24 hours × 2) = 9.6 (CNY).
