Product introduction
ApsaraDB for MyBase Open Edition decouples host resources, database engines, and database management tools. MyBase Open Edition gives you root permissions for hosts and full parameter permissions for the database kernel. You can also manage and maintain the database on your own. MyBase provides an experience similar to an Internet data center (IDC). It is more flexible and open than fully managed database services, which allows it to meet a wider range of needs.
MyBase Open Edition supports open source database engines such as MySQL. It also supports mainstream open source management tools, such as Orchestrator and Prometheus.
MyBase Open Edition can be deployed on ECS and on ACK to meet your needs in different scenarios.

MyBase on ECS | MyBase installs and deploys open source database engines and management components on Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances and starts the corresponding services. You can perform O&M operations on clusters, database engines, and management services in the MyBase console. |
MyBase on ACK | Note Before you use MyBase on ACK, create a Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) cluster. After the ACK cluster is ready, MyBase installs and deploys database engines and management components on your ACK cluster. The services that MyBase provides run in the ACK cluster. You can perform O&M operations on clusters, database engines, and management services in the MyBase console. |
MyBase instance management | This option lets you manage your self-managed open source MySQL 8.0 databases. After you add a database for management, MyBase provides seamless integration with the database ecosystem tools DMS and DAS. You can use the free features that these tools provide. The management feature for self-managed databases supports full backups and provides access to the internal Bianque diagnostic tool. This gives you an initial experience with database cloud services. |
