Before you can use the open-source edition of MyBase, you must create a cluster.

Billing description

Creating a MyBase cluster on ACK is free of charge. You are charged for MyBase only after you create an instance in the cluster.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for MyBase console.

  2. Click Create Cluster.

  3. Configure the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Region

Select the region for the cluster.

    Note

You cannot change the region after the cluster is created.

    Cluster Deployment Type

    Select on ACK.

    Control Service Category

Select a control service category. The following categories are supported:

    • Engine Operator

    • Monitoring Service

    Basic Control Service

Select the basic control services that you want to install. The available Basic Control Services vary based on the selected Control Service Category:

    • Engine Operator provides the following basic control services:

      • Basic control for MySQL 8.0 with cloud disks: Provides database control capabilities, such as instance lifecycle management, high availability (HA) switching, and primary/secondary management for MySQL 8.0 with cloud disks.

      • PolarDB-X control: Provides PolarDB-X database control capabilities, such as instance lifecycle management, component management, parameter settings, monitoring and alerts, log collection, backup and recovery, and secondary database reconstruction.

    • Monitoring Service provides the following basic control services:

      • Prometheus+Thanos+Kvass (performance monitoring): An enterprise-grade performance monitoring solution that supports features such as sharding, high availability (HA), and OSS storage.

      • FileBeat+ELK (log collection): A log service that consists of FileBeat, Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana. It provides features such as log creation, log collection, and dashboard display.

    Note

You can also install these control services after the cluster is created.

    Service Role Authorization

Authorize the AliyunMyBaseCPaaSDefaultRole service role. If this role is already authorized, no action is required.

    Performance Monitoring Service

For Prometheus, select the Specifications, Number Of Replicas, Storage Class, and Capacity. For Grafana, select the Storage Class and Capacity. Then, set the initial password for the admin account.

    Note

This configuration item appears only if you select Prometheus+Thanos+Kvass (performance monitoring).

    Grafana Public Endpoint

    ACK Cluster

Select the ACK cluster on which you want to build MyBase. For more information about how to create an ACK cluster, see Create a cluster.

    Cluster O&M Authorization

Select the authorization duration that allows MyBase O&M engineers to remotely manage the ACK cluster. The RBAC permissions for the O&M engineers are the same as those granted to the AliyunMyBaseCPaaSDefaultRole service role.

    Node Pool

Select a node pool for the cluster. The supported options are Random Allocation and Custom Node Pool.

If you select Custom Node Pool, you must also select a Control Plane Node Pool and a Data Plane Node Pool.

    Cluster Name

Enter a name for the MyBase cluster.

  4. Click Create Cluster.
