Upgrade or downgrade an instance

This document describes how to upgrade or downgrade a MyBase on ACK instance.

Prerequisites

The instance must be deployed on ACK.

Notes

  • MyBase lets you upgrade or downgrade only secondary nodes. To upgrade or downgrade a primary node, you must first upgrade or downgrade a secondary node, perform a primary/secondary switchover, and then upgrade or downgrade the original primary node.

  • During the upgrade or downgrade, the node is unavailable.

  • Transient disconnections to the database connection may occur during the upgrade or downgrade. We recommend that you perform this operation during off-peak hours and ensure that your application has an automatic reconnection mechanism.

Note

We recommend that you use the same specifications for the primary and secondary nodes. This practice ensures business continuity for High Availability (HA) after a primary/secondary switchover.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for MyBase console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the console, select a region. Find the cluster that you want to manage and click the cluster ID to go to the cluster management page.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

  4. Find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID to go to the Basic Information tab of the instance.

  5. In the Database Engine Node section, find the target secondary node. In the lower-right corner of the card for the node, click Operation and select Change Configuration.

  6. In the Change Configuration panel, select the new Specifications, and then click OK.
