EMAS application monitoring: Pricing policy changes

Dear Alibaba Cloud Customer, To enhance the mobile monitoring experience and reduce costs for developers, Alibaba Cloud is updating the pricing policy for the crash analysis and performance analysis features of EMAS Application Monitoring. Effective May 1, 2025, this update introduces a unified pricing model that consolidates mobile monitoring capabilities and simplifies billing. The details are as follows:
1. New pricing policy
Billing metric
Unified billing: Mobile monitoring capabilities now follow a unified billing model. Crash analysis and performance analysis are no longer billed separately.
Billing is based on monthly active devices (MAU) at CNY 0.01 per device per month.
Free quota: Each Alibaba Cloud account receives a free quota of 50,000 active devices per month. Usage beyond this threshold is billed at the standard rate.
Key benefits
Consolidated capabilities: Crash analysis and performance analysis are billed together, eliminating duplicate charges for devices that use both features.
Cost reduction: Previously, using both features cost CNY 0.02 per MAU. The new unified model reduces this cost by 50% to CNY 0.01 per MAU.
Shared free quota: The previous separate free quotas (50,000 devices for crash analysis and 50,000 for performance analysis) are now a single, shared 50,000-device free quota, simplifying billing management for small and medium-sized customers.
2. Pricing example
Suppose an Alibaba Cloud account has three apps with the following monthly active devices (deduplicated per app):
App1: 20,000 devices
App2: 30,000 devices
App3: 50,000 devices
The total usage for the month is 100,000 devices. Of these, 50,000 devices are covered by the free quota. The remaining 50,000 devices are billed.

3. Effective date and required actions
Effective date: May 1, 2025, at 00:00:00 (UTC+8)
Action required: No action is required. The system will automatically apply the new pricing model to your services.
Historical bills: Charges incurred before May 1, 2025, will follow the previous pricing model.
View bills: To view your bills, see View Bills. You can also view resource usage by logging in to the EMAS console and navigating to the Billing-related menu.
4. FAQ
Q: If I only use crash analysis or performance analysis, will I still be billed according to the new policy?
A: Yes. The new policy introduces unified billing for core mobile monitoring capabilities. Regardless of whether you use a single feature or a combination of features, you will be billed based on your actual MAU. In this scenario, your costs will not change.
Q: Can I still use my existing resource plans?
A: Yes, any purchased resource plans can still be used until they expire. The new pricing policy will take effect automatically on May 1, 2025.
