1. Activate the Alibaba Cloud official website channel
On the Alibaba Cloud Value-added Service Desk - My Support Plan page, click Activate Multi-channel Service. The system automatically enables the web-based group chat service for your account.
After you enable the service, contact your Alibaba Cloud Technical Account Manager (TAM) to add your root account to the group chat and grant you the Group Administrator role. If you are a RAM user, your root account must first grant you the required permissions. For more information, see Step 2. Then, your root account or TAM can add you to the group chat.
After you join the group chat, you can use the Web-based Group Chat feature.
2. Add RAM users to the group as an Alibaba Cloud account owner
On the Alibaba Cloud website, click the profile picture in the upper-right corner to check if you are using a root account.
2.1 Log on with your Alibaba Cloud account and go to RAM
2.2 Grant permissions to a RAM user
⚠️ After you grant permissions, the RAM user can access the Web-based Group Chat feature.
Recommendation
Create a user group, such as Group A. Grant the `AliyunDingTalkServiceFullAccess` permission to the user group.
To grant this permission to other RAM users in the future, you can add them to Group A.
For more information, see Authorization management.
Select the identity to which you want to grant permissions: User, User Group, or Role.
In the Actions column for the user, user group, or role, click Add Permissions. Search for the AliyunDingTalkServiceFullAccess access policy. Select the policy and confirm the action to grant the permission.
2.3 Add a RAM user to the group
⚠️ After you add the RAM user to the group, the user can see the main service group in the Web-based Group Chat.
Select the group chat, click the Member Management plugin, and then click Add Member.
If you cannot add members, contact your Alibaba Cloud TAM to request the Group Administrator role.
Set Account Type to Alibaba Cloud RAM User. Enter the information for the RAM user that you want to add. This action adds the user to the group chat.
Select a RAM user:
Group Administrator: Select this option to allow the user to add other members to the group.
Default Member of Ticket Groups: Select this option to automatically add the user to new ticket groups.
3. You are a RAM user
If you are a RAM user and receive a permission error when you access the Web-based Group Chat, contact your Alibaba Cloud account owner. The account owner can refer to this topic to grant you the required access permissions.
