Smart instrumentation plans

Scenarios

The Quick Tracking data collection platform supports manual instrumentation. You can also use an advanced Large Language Model (LLM) to automatically generate instrumentation for one or more pages. This improves the efficiency and accuracy of data collection.

Core advantages

• Shorter design path: The LLM uses the standard instrumentation knowledge base from Quick Tracking to automatically generate instrumentation. This lowers the barrier to designing instrumentation plans and improves design and development efficiency.

• Expert industry knowledge: The model uses the Quick Tracking industry knowledge base and standard instrumentation support library to generate standardized instrumentation plan designs.

• Convenient visual editing: The generated instrumentation corresponds to the page content. This makes it easy to identify the mapping between instrumentation events and actual page operations.

*Because LLM technology is probabilistic, system-generated content may contain minor inaccuracies. Manually verify the content before deploying it in a production environment to ensure data accuracy and business suitability.

Function overview

1. Go to Data Collection > Tracking Management > Smart Instrumentation Plans.

• Search box: Search for a page name or page code by keyword.

• Plan display area: Displays information about the plans generated by smart instrumentation, including the name, code, status, and number of events. Plan statuses include the following:

  • Generating: The status after you submit a page and click Start Generation.

  • Stopped: The status after you click Stop Generation for a plan that is being generated. You can regenerate the plan after stopping it.

  • Generated: Events have been generated for the current page.

  • Generation Failed: The screenshot contains no detectable elements for instrumentation. You can try generating the plan again.

  • Managed: Event generation is complete for this page, and the events have been submitted to Event and Attribute Management.

• Plan operations: Perform operations on an instrumentation plan, such as viewing details, deleting the plan, or stopping generation.

Procedure

1. Click Generate Smart Instrumentation to go to the smart event generation page.

   

2. Select a data model and upload screenshots of the pages that require instrumentation.

   

   • Model selection: Four data models are currently supported: Qwen-Max, Qwen-Plus, DeepSeek-R1, and DeepSeek-V3.

   • Page upload: Supports uploading apps, miniapps, H5 pages, PC pages, and web pages.

   • Batch uploads are supported. Each image corresponds to one page event.

   • If you upload multiple images for the same page, they will not be recognized as a single page event. Upload one complete, long screenshot for each page.

   After you complete the configuration, click Start Generation.

3. After you click Start Generation, the smart assistant automatically generates an instrumentation plan based on the uploaded screenshots and displays the generation progress.

   

4. After generation completes, you are automatically returned to the smart instrumentation plan list. You can also click Smart Instrumentation Plan List to go to the list page and view the plan generation status.

   

5. For a generated plan, click View Details to go to the event configuration page.

   

   Click Edit to enter editing mode. You can adjust the instrumentation position and trigger area size, modify the event code, event name, and event type, associate event properties, and delete instrumentation events.

   

   Click Add Property to associate existing event properties from the Attribute Management page or create new properties.

   

   After you finish editing, click Save to exit editing mode. The generation type changes to Manual Adjustment.

   Click Edit Page Information to configure page event information, such as the page event name, code, and associated properties.

6. Click New Event to add new instrumentation to the current page. Manually edit the area for the new instrumentation and edit the event information.

   

7. After you finish editing, click Submit Plan. Then, select the parent plan, effective scope, and update method.

   

   Export Plan: Downloads the current page plan to your local machine.

   Cancel: Return without processing the (event).

8. After submission completes, the status of the instrumentation plan changes to Managed.

   

   For a managed event, click View Details to continue editing the event information.
