PPU runtime environment check

Asight Systems provides the PPU environment check feature. Run the following command:

asys status [<--ppu-env>] [app] [app args]

This command provides two check modes: static environment check and runtime environment check.

1. Static environment check

asys status --ppu-env

The static environment check does not require a target application and can run independently. It only checks the environment where the asys status command runs.

Sample output:

2. Runtime environment check

asys status --ppu-env <app> <app args>

The runtime environment check requires a target application. The asys status command starts the target application and injects a check library into the application's process to collect environment information. This check can detect PPU program exceptions that occur when the target application modifies PPU environment information at runtime, for example, a model program started by a shell script.

Sample output of the runtime environment check:

3. Check items

The PPU environment check tool provides checks for eight categories of data:

  1. PPU SDK validity and path check (static, runtime).

  2. PPU SDK software stack version match check (static, runtime).

  3. PPU device validity check (static, runtime).

  4. CUDA leftover file check (static, runtime).

  5. Docker environment check (static, runtime).

  6. Blocklisted library file check (static, runtime).

  7. Validity check of the PPU SDK library files loaded by the target application (runtime).

  8. Shell log check of the target application (runtime).
