Troubleshoot domain name resolution failures
This topic describes how to troubleshoot several issues that cause domain name resolution to fail.
Issue 1: A CNAME record conflicts with an A record.
If the original DNS record is no longer needed, delete it and add a new CNAME record. Alternatively, you can change the A record to a CNAME record.
If the A record must be kept, detach the domain name, attach it again, and then configure domain name resolution.
Issue 2: Resolution is not taking effect.
Resolution fails if the domain name has not passed identity verification, or if you have not added Alibaba Cloud to the ICP filing information as a service provider.
Resolution fails because the domain name registrar does not match the DNS server. This often happens during a domain name transfer-in or transfer-out.
Resolution fails if the DNS records for the domain name contain multiple invalid CNAME records.
After you add a DNS record value, the message "Hello, the site you are visiting does not exist" appears. This usually means that the new record has not taken effect yet. Wait a few minutes and then access the domain name again.
