The SOFAStack product family
SOFAStack is built on a financial-grade distributed middleware technology system from Ant Group that was developed internally for over a decade. This system incorporates architectural practices from Alipay's critical financial transaction systems. All SOFAStack products and technologies are tested in Ant Group's demanding financial scenarios. They secure financial transactions and support agile business iterations. SOFAStack also supports geo-redundant disaster recovery and low-cost, rapid scaling. It simplifies the transition from traditional centralized architectures and supports financial business innovation by enabling the creation of a large-scale, high-availability (HA) distributed system architecture.
SOFAStack consists of four main modules: Distributed Middleware, Operations Management (Application PaaS), Advanced O&M, and Development Effectiveness (DevOps). For more information about the product components in each module, see Appendix: SOFAStack product catalog.
Distributed middleware
Ant Distributed Middleware (SOFA) is developed based on advanced industry standards and practices. It supports the smooth migration and integration of traditional financial architectures and ensures reliable business upgrades. SOFA also addresses key technical challenges in financial transaction systems, such as service and data extensibility, transactional consistency, second-level disaster recovery, and elastic provisioning and scheduling.
Operations management
SOFAStack CAFE (Cloud Application Fabric Engine) is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) product that provides full lifecycle management for applications, including application management, release and deployment, O&M orchestration, monitoring and analysis, and disaster recovery response. CAFE meets the O&M needs for both classic and cloud-native architectures in financial scenarios. It helps traditional architectures transition smoothly and protects against financial technology risks.
Advanced O&M
The TRaaS technology risk control platform is built on the long-term practices and internal tools of Ant Group's Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. This platform addresses O&M problems that arise during cloud adoption and distributed transformation, such as observability, incident response, disaster recovery, chaos engineering, fund security, and stress testing.

This solution is built on Ant Group's extensive R&D and engineering experience in Internet finance and provides a financial-grade, one-stop intelligent R&D platform. It is designed for customers who want to achieve digital transformation. The platform offers capabilities for R&D delivery, risk control, and quality assurance, balancing agile delivery with reliable innovation. It also provides high availability for financial products and continuously improves development effectiveness.
