You can import Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances into a workspace to quickly manage or recover them. This topic describes how to import an ECS instance that is in a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) using the console.

Prerequisites

You have created an ECS instance in the same VPC.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Compute and Network > Elastic Compute Service.

  3. On the ECS Instances page, click Import.

  4. On the VPC Network tab, find the instance that you want to import and click Check Status in the Initialize O&M Channel column.

  5. Click 1 in the Initialize O&M Channel column. The Initialize O&M Channel dialog box opens.

  6. Copy the command in the dialog box and run it in the virtual machine terminal.

  7. Select the ECS instance that you want to import and click Import.

    Note

To quickly find an instance that can be imported, you can filter the list by zone. Alternatively, you can enter the instance ID or instance name in the search box.

After the instance is imported, it appears in the instance list.
