How do I troubleshoot a sub-account that cannot sign in?

If a sub-account signs in and receives the error "incorrect username or password", check the following:

  1. The sub-account has not been created by the administrator yet. Contact your administrator to create the account in the mail admin console.

  2. The account name is entered incorrectly. Make sure you entered the correct prefix before the @ symbol.

To create a sub-account, the administrator must:

  1. Sign in to the Alibaba Mail console (alimail.console.aliyun.com) and reset the postmaster password.

  2. Sign in to the Alibaba Mail admin console using postmaster@<domain>.onaliyun.com.

  3. Go to Organization and Users > Employee Account Management and click Create Account.

  4. In the email address field, enter only the prefix before the @ symbol (for example, username). The domain suffix is completed automatically.

  5. Set a password, select the option to require a password change on first login, and click OK.

How do I view created employee accounts and their statuses?

Sign in to Alibaba Mail with an administrator account. In the Alibaba Mail admin console, go to Organization and Users > Employee Account Management to view the list of assigned sub-accounts and their account statuses.

If you cannot find an account after renewing or repurchasing Alibaba Mail, verify that you signed in with the Alibaba Cloud account used to purchase the mailbox and opened the correct Alibaba Mail console instance. A domain that has not been renewed can make the account unavailable or prevent it from sending and receiving email.

A newly created sub-account can send and receive email immediately. If the original postmaster account has no available storage space, use the new sub-account to receive email.

A repurchased or newly added account with the same name is a new account and contains no historical email data.
