Voice Service overview
The Voice Service on IoT Platform has been fully upgraded. The new Voice Service page lets you quickly integrate and manage voice services. This topic describes how to develop skills and attach products on the Voice Service management page in the Operation Center.
Overview
If a product needs to use a third-party voice service, you can create a skill on the page. A skill is primarily used to link and bind accounts between platforms. Then, you can attach the products that you want to control through the third-party voice platform to the skill. This ensures that the products can be controlled by voice commands from the third-party platform. The Voice Service management page is shown in the following figure:
Main flow to develop a voice service
- Create a skill. For more information, see Create a skill.
- Go to the third-party voice platform to develop the skill. Then, return to the Voice Service page to configure and bind the skill information. For more information, see Step 4 in Configure and bind a skill.
- After you configure and bind the skill information, you can purchase and enable the Voice Service. For information about the billing of skill customization for the Voice Service, see Billing
Important The Voice Service that you need to enable to create a skill is the skill customization service. If you purchase other voice services, you cannot enable the skill customization service for this flow.
- Download the app that contains the configured skill. After you test the app and confirm that it works as expected, publish the skill to complete the creation process.
- After you create the skill, you can attach a product to the published skill. For more information, see Attach a product.
- After you confirm the product information, you can enable the third-party voice control service for the product. For more information, see Step 4 in Confirm the purchase and enable the voice control service.
Note The voice control service enabled in this step is different from the skill customization service enabled earlier. For more information about the fees, see Billing.
Note: You must purchase the required voice service within this flow. Do not purchase it in the Service Center. This is to prevent you from purchasing the wrong voice control service.
- Confirm that the third-party voice control instructions are correctly configured and verified. Then, publish the product to complete the attachment process.
