Email marketing integrates with Alibaba Cloud DirectMail. This lets you send scheduled or instant emails to an audience. The feature is ideal for reaching customers outside China. You can push marketing campaigns to potential customers for events such as new product launches or end-of-season sales. This keeps users informed about new products and promotions.
Email marketing flow
You can use an audience that you created or a public audience created by another user. You can then send emails to the original or AES-encrypted mailboxes associated with that audience.
You can create an audience by filtering targets from data tables or Recency, Frequency, Monetary (RFM)/Awareness, Interest, Purchase, and Loyalty (AIPL) models, or by uploading a list of target IDs. For more information, see Audience Management.
An organization administrator configures the email API. For more information, see Configure the Alibaba Cloud email API.
(Optional) You can create an email template. For more information, see Create an email template.
Email templates can be referenced in email tasks and used as the email body. Alternatively, you can edit the email body directly when you create the task, without creating a template first.
(Optional) You can limit the number of emails sent to a single user within a specific period and set do-not-disturb times. For more information, see Fatigue Control.
You can create an email task. For more information, see Create an email task.
For both scheduled and instant tasks, the email body must be approved by Alibaba Cloud DirectMail before sending.
After an email task is created, you can use Email Marketing Task Management to check its execution status and sending details.
After the emails are sent, you can analyze the marketing effectiveness. For more information, see Email Marketing Effectiveness Analysis.
FAQ
Does the template review affect send times for email marketing tasks?
A: An email template must be reviewed and approved by the Alibaba Cloud email platform before you can use it to send emails. The following rules apply:
For instant tasks, emails are sent immediately after the template is approved.
For scheduled tasks, the review process is fast. This lets you use or modify a template that is still under review. After the template is approved, the email is sent at the scheduled time.
If I modify a template's content after selecting it, does the new content need review?
A: If you modify a template on the Create Mail Task page, the system saves the modified content as a new template named after the current task.
This new template must be reviewed and approved by Alibaba Cloud DirectMail before it can be used for sending. The new template can be managed from the email template list.
