The device detection feature lets you check the availability of your browser, network connection, headset, and microphone. You can also select your audio devices and test the headset volume.

For high call quality, use Cloud Call Center with Google Chrome version 58 or later and a professional USB headset. Plug in your headset and click Device Detection in the top navigation bar. A pop-up layer opens on the right. When the layer opens, it automatically detects your native devices, including your browser, microphone, and speakers.

  • Browser: Click Re-detect. A green icon indicates that the browser is working correctly.

  • Network Detection: Click Re-detect. A green icon indicates that the current network connection is normal.

  • Headset: Select a device from the Headset drop-down list. If you can hear music, click "I can hear the music". If not, try another device. A green icon indicates the headset is working correctly.

  • Microphone: Select a device from the Microphone drop-down list. If you can hear your voice, click "I can hear my voice". If not, try another device. A green icon indicates the microphone is working correctly.

  1. Before starting work, log on to Cloud Call Center and make a test outbound call. Call a friend or colleague to confirm they can hear you clearly and without static. Ensure the call quality is good before you begin working.

  2. Other notes:

    • These settings only apply to Cloud Call Center. Other applications, such as music players, will continue to use the default audio device.

    • If you change your computer, browser, or audio device, make another test call even if the device detection is successful. Make an outbound call from the agent console to a friend or colleague to ensure your device works perfectly.

    • If you clear your browser cache, or use cleaning software, such as 360 Total Security, to clear junk files from Google Chrome, your audio device selection information will be purged.
