Description

Monthly unique active devices

Mobile Hotfix bills you based on the number of unique devices. The number of unique active devices is the total count of devices that have called the patch query API during a statistical period. A device that calls the API multiple times within the period is counted as one device.

Average queries per day

Mobile Hotfix bills you based on the average number of times a unique device calls the patch query API per day. This item is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. An average of 20 patch queries per device is typically sufficient. Use the service as intended to avoid extra charges.

Statistics for billable items

  • Monthly unique active devices: The number of monthly unique active devices is calculated daily for each application. If you have multiple applications, their device counts are aggregated. You are billed for the total number of devices that exceeds 50,000. The device count is reset to zero on the first day of each month.

  • Average daily queries per device: The average number of times each device calls the patch query API is calculated daily. The formula is: Average daily queries per device = Total daily patch query API calls / Daily active devices.

Billing cycle

  • The billing cycle is daily. You are charged for any daily resource usage that exceeds your free quota and resource plan.

  • The free quota is provided on a monthly basis and is reset on the first day of each month. You are not charged if your monthly resource usage is within the free quota. If your usage exceeds the free quota, you are charged for the excess amount.

Bill generation

  • Purchase bills: A purchase bill is generated immediately when you purchase a subscription plan or a resource plan.

  • Pay-as-you-go bills: If you incur pay-as-you-go fees, a consolidated bill for all EMAS products is generated daily. This bill shows your pay-as-you-go usage fees from the previous day.

Note

Bills are typically generated at approximately 03:00 on the following day. The actual generation time may vary. Please refer to your account for the final bill.

Mobile Hotfix offers the following three billing models.

Free quota

  • Monthly unique active devices: The service is free if the total number of monthly active devices for all applications under your account is less than 50,000.

  • Average daily queries per device: The service is free if the average number of daily queries per device is 20 or less. The formula is: Average daily queries per device = Total daily patch query API calls / Daily active devices.

Note

If you create three applications under one account, the free quota for monthly unique active devices is the total count from all three applications. If the total number of devices from the three applications exceeds 50,000, you will be charged.

All calculations and statistics are managed and aggregated under the root account. This applies regardless of the number of RAM users created under the root account or the number of devices associated with each RAM user. Individual RAM users and their associated devices are not billed separately.

Pay-as-you-go

Fees are calculated based on your usage of billable items and the pay-as-you-go prices.

Resource plans

This is an upfront payment model that offers lower prices for purchasing resources in advance. You can purchase multiple resource plans. They are consumed in the order they were purchased. Purchase a resource plan.

Note

Your daily usage is deducted from your resource plan. For example, if you have a resource plan for 5 million devices and you use 4 million devices on the first day, you will have a balance of 1 million devices for the remainder of the validity period. Resource plans are valid for one year. The service is available immediately after you purchase a resource plan and remains available until the plan expires or is fully consumed.

Offset order example

A Mobile Hotfix user purchases the EMAS Basic Plan, an annual subscription (No. 1), and a Mobile Hotfix resource plan (No. 2). The user now has a free quota of 50,000 devices/month, an EMAS Basic Plan quota of 100,000 devices/month, a subscription quota of 100,000 devices/month, and a resource plan of 100,000 devices. If the user's total monthly unique active devices exceed 250,000, the usage is first offset by the resource plan. After the resource plan is consumed, billing automatically switches to the pay-as-you-go model.

Overdue payments

  • Mobile Hotfix provides a grace period for overdue payments. During this period, the service remains active to ensure continuity.

  • The grace period is 24 hours. If the overdue payment is not settled by the end of the grace period, the service may be suspended.

  • After the service is suspended, new patches will not be delivered. Patches that have already been delivered to clients are not affected. To resume the service, you must pay the outstanding balance in full.

Refund policy

If you have purchased a Mobile Hotfix resource plan, you can request a refund before the plan expires, provided that none of the resources from the plan have been consumed. Refunds are not available in other situations. To request a refund, submit a ticket for manual processing.
