This topic describes how to set periodic password change reminders.
Five days before the password change reminder period expires, users who have not changed their password receive a daily email reminder. If the force password change option is also enabled, users who miss the deadline must change their password at their next login to access their account. When this feature is enabled, accounts with passwords unchanged for longer than the reminder period immediately receive an email notification. This notification is not sent to exception accounts or to accounts whose passwords are not saved in Alibaba Mail.
Procedure
1. Log in to Alibaba Mail as an administrator using the postmaster account. The domain admin console opens automatically. Navigate to Security Management > Account Security > Password Policy > Periodic Password Change.
2. Set the status to On.
3. Optionally, enable force password change. This forces users who miss the deadline to change their password at their next login.
4. Set the password change reminder period. This determines the frequency of password change reminders. Available options are 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year. The default is 1 month.
5. To exempt specific accounts from this policy, add them as exception accounts.
6. Click save.
