Self-service Analysis

Updated at:

Administrators, self-service analysis-developers, and self-service analysis-analysts perform flexible data analysis on audience datasets. You can also select new audience in reports to compare the data performance of different audiences on the same metric, and generate new audience packages directly from report selections.

Note

Before creating a self-service analysis, create a Self-service Analysis Dataset.

Create a self-service analysis

  1. Go to Workspace > User Insight > Audience Insight > Self-Service Analysis > Self-Service Analysis List. image

  2. Click New Self-Service Analysis in the upper-right corner. In the dialog box, enter a name for the analysis, select a dataset, and click OK. image

  3. Build your report on the analysis page. image

Drag a field (or specific field values) from the dimension list to the horizontal axis field or vertical axis field on the right, or to the row or column field in the upper-right corner. Then drag a field from the measure list to the measure field to generate a report.

For advanced features, see Quick BI Ad Hoc Analysis Data Selection. The operations are the same except that dataset selection is not supported.

  4. To compare how different audiences perform on the same metric, add audience_names from the dimension list, then drag the metric to compare from the measure list. image

  5. To generate a new audience by ring-selecting metrics in the report:

    1. In the report, select the metrics for the users you want to include, right-click, and select Generate Audience Package. image

    2. Enter an audience name and click OK. image

The generated audience is added to the audience list with the source displayed as Create. From the audience list, you can push the audience to marketing channels, run further analysis, or download the data. You can also create marketing tasks for the audience. For details, see Audience Basic Functions, Audience Push Functions, User Marketing Documentation, and Automatic Marketing Documentation.

  6. Click Save or Save and Publish in the upper-right corner. The analysis is added to the analysis list for other members with the required permissions to use.
