This topic describes how to install BT-Panel on an ECS instance that runs Windows Server.

Important

Note:

If you perform risky operations, such as modifying instances or data, ensure data security by understanding the disaster recovery and fault tolerance capabilities of your instances.
If you modify the configurations or data of instances, such as ECS and RDS instances, create snapshots or enable features such as RDS log backup in advance.
If you have granted permissions or submitted security information, such as logon credentials, on the Alibaba Cloud platform, change them promptly.

System requirements

The latest version of the panel, available on the official download page, supports only Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022. You must install it on a clean or newly initialized system.

Note
Microsoft stopped providing support for the Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems on January 14, 2020. Therefore, Alibaba Cloud no longer provides technical support for ECS instances that run these operating systems. Technical documents related to these systems are for reference only. If you have ECS instances that run these operating systems, update them to Windows Server 2012 or a later version as soon as possible.

This topic provides an example of installing BT-Panel on a Windows Server 2012 system.

In a browser, such as Chrome, navigate to the official BT-Panel website at BT-Panel Downloads. Click Download Now to download the latest installation program for BT-Panel for Windows.
Click "Open" as shown in Figure 1. Then, right-click the installer and select "Open" as shown in Figure 2.
Click Custom Options. Modify the options as needed, and then click One-click Install to install BT-Panel for Windows.
Verify that the installation is complete.
On the desktop, double-click the BT-Panel icon to run it. Note the provided panel address, account, and password to log on to the panel.
Add an inbound rule to the security group of the instance to allow traffic on port 8888. For more information, see Add a security group rule. Note: The default port for BT-Panel is 8888, but it may change depending on the installation environment. Use the port number from the panel address that you obtained in Step 5. This port is also available in the panel's system settings.
Open a browser, such as Chrome. Enter the panel address, your account, and your password. Then, click Log On.
After you log on, you are prompted to bind a BT-Panel account. If you do not have an account, register for one and then log on.
After you successfully log on, you can start using the features of BT-Panel.
