This topic describes how to add a primary endpoint for a tenant of a standby instance.
Background information
After the tenants of the primary instance are synchronized to the standby instance, you must manually add a primary endpoint and an endpoint for the tenants of the standby instance. You can add an endpoint and switch the primary zone only after you add the primary endpoint. For more information about primary endpoints and endpoints, see Add an endpoint.
The primary endpoint of a standby instance is read-only. If a standby instance becomes the primary instance after a switchover, the primary endpoints for all tenants in the new primary instance support read and write services. The primary endpoints for tenants in the new standby instance are read-only.
