Edit a product

Prerequisites

You have created a product. For more information, see Create a product.

To edit products that belong to another Alibaba Cloud account, the products must be in an authorized project. For more information, see Project authorization.

Copy a product

You can copy a product to the current project, another existing project, or a new project.

1. Log on to the Living IoT Platform.
2. Go to the project that contains the product you want to copy.
3. Select a product and click Copy.
4. Select the destination project for the copied product.
   • Select Existing Project to copy the product to an existing project. You can modify the name of the copied product.
     Important

     • To copy a product to an existing project, you need permission to create products in the target project.
     • Legacy products cannot be copied. For more information about legacy products, see General glossary for the Living IoT Platform.
   • Select New Project and enter a name for the new project. The product is then copied to this project. You can modify the name of the copied product.
     Note The new project appears on the project homepage. Make sure that the project name is correct.
5. Click OK.

   After the product is copied, the new product appears on the project homepage. By default, the name of the new product ends with "-copy".

Modify a product

1. On the project homepage, click the product you want to modify. This opens the product developer page.
2. In the product information section, click Edit.
3. Modify the product information.

   For information about product parameters, see Product parameters.

   Note You can only modify the product name.
4. Click OK.

Delete a product

You can delete a product when it is no longer needed.

To delete a product, it must meet the following conditions:

• A status of Developing

  You cannot delete products with a status of Published. To delete the product, you must first revoke its status to Developing.

• No associated test devices

  If a product has test devices, you must first delete them in the IoT Platform console. Then, you can delete the product. For more information about deleting test devices, see View device information.

1. Go to the project that contains the product you want to delete.
2. Select a product and click Delete.
3. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to confirm the deletion.
