The IoT Platform provides the Tmall Genie app. You can use the Tmall Genie app to test devices or provide it to consumers as the end-user app.
About the Tmall Genie app
The Tmall Genie app is a generic app named Tmall Genie. The app logo is shown below.

The Tmall Genie app is available for iOS and Android.

Tmall Genie app workflow
During device development, you can use the Tmall Genie app to test your device and preview its device panel. The workflow is as follows.
- Create a project and a product in the console, and define the product features. For more information, see Platform operation flow.
- Turn on the control switch for the Tmall Genie app. For more information, see Human-computer interaction overview.
- Configure the app parameters. Product Display, Network Configuration Guide, Device Panel, and Product Manual are required parameters. For more information, see App configuration rules.
After you configure the device panel, you can use the Tmall Genie app to scan the preview QR code in the console. For more information, see Configure a device panel.
- Download the Tmall Genie app. For more information, see this document.
- Download the Tmall Genie app.
- Go to . Enter the text that triggers device network configuration. A Genie sticker is automatically generated. You can print this sticker and apply it to the device packaging. (Genie stickers are mandatory for Tmall Genie Direct Connect devices. Ensure that this requirement is implemented on the device side.) For more information, see Use Genie stickers.
- Scan the network configuration QR code to attach and test the device. For more information about the QR code, see Get product manual materials.
- After the device is successfully tested, enter the mass production stage. At the same time, prepare the manual materials. For more information, see Download manual materials.
- Sell your device.
After a consumer purchases the device, they can scan the QR code in the manual to download the Tmall Genie app, configure the network, and attach the device.
