Cloud Monitor and alerting
Connect Time Series Database (TSDB) to CloudMonitor to monitor key instance metrics and receive alerts when thresholds are breached.
How it works
CloudMonitor collects metrics from your TSDB instance — such as CPU utilization and memory usage — and evaluates them against the alert rules you define. When a metric crosses a threshold, CloudMonitor sends a notification through your configured contact channels. Access this monitoring and alerting configuration directly from the TSDB console via the Instance Alert entry point.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
-
A running TSDB instance
-
Access to the TSDB console
Set up CloudMonitor alerting for a TSDB instance
-
Log on to the TSDB console. The Instances page appears.
-
In the Actions column for the instance you want to manage, click Manage. The Instance Details page appears.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instance Alert. You are redirected to the CloudMonitor console, where you can view the monitoring details for the instance.
-
In the upper-right corner, click Alert Rules to view the alert rules already configured for the instance.
-
Create an alert rule using one of these methods:
-
If no alert rules exist for the instance, click Create Alert Rule on the alert rules page.
-
On the monitoring dashboard, click the Set Alert Rules icon in the upper-right corner of a specific metric's monitoring details section.
When creating a rule, specify its scope: apply it to only this TSDB instance, or to all your TSDB instances.
-
Monitored metrics
After connecting TSDB to CloudMonitor, the following metrics are available for monitoring:
| Metric | Notes |
|---|---|
| CPU utilization | |
| DataPointsIncrement | |
| Memory usage | |
| Used disk space | |
| Disk usage | Requires engine version V2.6.10 or later |
| Number of time series |
