If a purchased instance has expired or is about to expire, you can renew it. This topic describes how to renew an instance using Renewal Management.

After an instance expires, you must renew it within 14 days to ensure uninterrupted service. During this period, the system pauses all tasks but retains your data and resources. If you do not renew the instance within 14 days, the system deletes all tasks and releases the resources. For more information, see Expiration reminders and service suspension policy.

Note

You cannot modify the current configuration during renewal.

Manual renewal

You can manually renew an instance in the Alibaba Cloud User Center or the Data Resource Platform console. Choose the appropriate method based on the instance status.

Renew in the Alibaba Cloud User Center

If your instance has expired or is about to expire, you can renew it in the Alibaba Cloud User Center.

Go to the Alibaba Cloud User Center.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Order Management > Renewal Management.
On the Manual Renewal tab, find the instance that you want to renew, and click Renew in the Actions column.

The Manual Renewal tab is selected by default on the Renewal Management page.
On the Renewal page, review the purchase information and read the Alibaba Cloud Product Terms of Service (General). Then, select the Data Resource Platform Service Agreement checkbox.
Important
You can only renew the instance with its current configuration.
Click Buy Now.
On the payment page, verify the order details and click Pay. After the payment is successful, the renewal is complete.

Renew in the Data Resource Platform console

If your purchased instance is about to expire, you can renew it in the Data Resource Platform console.

In the upper-right corner of the Data Resource Platform console, click the account menu and choose Order Management.
On the Order Details page, click Renew.
On the Renewal page, review the purchase information and read the Alibaba Cloud Product Terms of Service (General). Then, select the Data Resource Platform Service Agreement checkbox.

You can only renew the instance with its current configuration.
Click Buy Now.
On the payment page, verify the order details and click Pay. After the payment is successful, the renewal is complete.

Auto-renewal

If you have a subscription instance and plan to use the service for a long term, you can enable auto-renewal. After you enable auto-renewal, the system automatically renews the instance before it expires. This prevents your resources and data from being released due to a missed renewal payment.

Go to the Alibaba Cloud User Center.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Order Management > Renewal Management.
On the Manual Renewal tab, find the instance for which you want to enable auto-renewal, and click Enable Auto-renewal in the Actions column.
On the Enable Auto-renewal page, select an auto-renewal duration, and then click Enable Auto-renewal.
On the Auto-renewal tab, you can view the details of the instance that is configured for auto-renewal.
Note
To modify or cancel auto-renewal, click Modify Auto-renewal, Do Not Renew, or Switch to Manual Renewal.
