You can configure email alerts in DataBase Audit. After the configuration is complete, the DataBase Audit service sends alert information by email. This topic describes how to configure email alerts for DataBase Audit.
Prerequisites
The system administrator role is enabled for the DataBase Audit system. For more information, see Enable the system administrator and system auditor roles.Configuration flow
- Step 1: Configure the mail server: Use the sysadmin (system administrator) account for DataBase Audit to set the server that sends email alerts.
- Step 2: Configure recipient email addresses: Use a DataBase Audit administrator account to configure the email addresses of users who receive email alerts.
- Use a DataBase Audit administrator account to configure email alert information.
Alerts generated in the DataBase Audit system environment are system alerts. Alerts generated when statements hit alert rules are rule alerts.
- To receive system alert notifications, configure system email alert information. For more information, see (Optional) Step 3: Configure system email alert information.
- To receive rule alert notifications, configure rule email alert information. For more information, see (Optional) Step 4: Configure rule email alert information.
Step 1: Configure the mail server
- In the address bar of your browser, enter https://DataBase_Audit_IP. On the logon page, use the username and password of the sysadmin (system administrator) to log on to the DataBase Audit console.
- In the top menu bar, choose .
- On the page, set the parameters for the email alert server in the Email Settings area.
Parameter Description SMTP server address The IP address of the SMTP server that sends email alerts. Username The username for the DataBase Audit instance to access the server that sends email alerts. Port The port for the DataBase Audit instance to connect to the server that sends email alerts. The port number ranges from 1 to 65535.
Password The password for the DataBase Audit instance to access the server that sends email alerts. If the mail server requires an authorization code for third-party client logon, enter the client authorization code.
Encryption connection type The encryption type used when the DataBase Audit instance connects to the server that sends email alerts. Valid values: - None
- SSL
- TLS
Sender address The email address of the sender that is displayed in the email. - In the Send Test area, enter the recipient email address in the Recipient Address field.
To verify the recipient email address, click Send Test Email. If the test email is received, the Recipient Address is correct.
- Click Save.
Step 2: Configure recipient email addresses
Follow these steps to configure email addresses for users who need to receive email alerts.
- Log on to the DataBase Audit system.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click the username and then click User Profile in the drop-down list.
- In the User Profile dialog box, enter the Email Address for the user and click Save.
- In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
(Optional) Step 3: Configure system email alert information
To receive system alert notifications, follow these steps to configure system email alert information:
- Log on to the DataBase Audit system.

- In the top menu bar, choose .
- On the Email Notification tab, select the checkbox in the Notification column for each user who needs to receive email alerts.
You can enable email alert notifications for multiple users. Email alerts are not sent to users who are not selected.
- Configure the Email Title and Alerting Epoch for system email alerts, and select the system alert information to include in the email.
- Click OK.
- In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
(Optional) Step 4: Configure rule email alert information
To receive rule alert notifications, follow these steps to configure rule email alert information:
- On the Overview page of the DataBase Audit system, find the Databases area and click Information for the database that you added.
- On the database product page, click Configuration.
- On the Email Notification tab of the Rule Alert Notification section, select the checkbox in the Notification column for each user who needs to receive email alerts.
- Configure the Email Title and Alerting Epoch for rule email alerts, and select the content to send in the email alerts.
- Click OK.
- In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
